Welcome to Brown on the Towne, the illegitimate, bastard brain child of two friends who enjoy their eats and surroundings. We are Homer and Jordan. Baby please..??

Hello again readers...

So we've become deadbeat food bloggers... don't expect any reader support payments any soon. By the by... can we borrow some scratch to pay off our gambling debts. We'll pay you back. You know we're good for it.

Since our last post waaaay back in December '07, Homer and I have neglected our responsibilities as honorable food bloggers to the world. We did manage to hit up a couple places; Malara's, Katie's Greek along with a special guest. However we could not find the time or motivation to write up our adventures.

So in short:

Malara's - go there, get the bacon stuffed meatball (brascioli), and if you eat a dessert cannoli with a fork --> you = douchebag.

Katie's - Opah!!!! the flaming cheese is a must! Not to be confused with the gay cheese.

As for the future of BOTT!, we are unsure of format (we would like to have a full website, not just a blog). At some point (when the semester ends) reviews will reappear as they have in the past.

Suggestions from you all are welcome.

I am thinking I will post on my personal food adventures until things get rolling again.

So for now here are some suggestion if you hunger for Brown on the Towne approved eats.

Cuba Linda - as always

Victors - best gyros/falafel in town

The Taj - try the samosa with chat

try this place...

Gusto Cuban Cafe. More money than I like to spend but it IS brown. I got the Gusto Cuban Cafe-Sampler which had fried pork, plantains, croquettes (ham and chicken), stuffed potato, garbanzos with chorizo, taro root fritters and a bunch of other unidentified goodness.

Hey,

I'm thinking about creating a shared blogroll for all of the Omaha area food blogs. Would you be interested in being a part of the blogroll? If so, just shoot me an email. I'm hoping it will help blogs like this one that don't have the posting frequency of the more popular blogs out there.
